SOUNDTRACK

After trawling through lots of pieces of royalty free music, we found this:

This music is foreboding due to the droning noise throughout it, sparks confusion because it is slightly muffled/muted, creates a sense of fear/makes you feel uncomfortable because it is slow yet suspenseful.

It is going to be used as our main non diegetic soundtrack throughout the opening. We have also already been in contact with the composer, Torrey Desmond Rogers, and he is happy to collaborate with us in this way.

Some might say that this sound could make the piece of the borderline horror genre, but we are going to avoid doing this by making it quieter when editing, so that is not too overpowering or distracting. We want to make the audience uncomfortable, but not as uncomfortable or scared as they would be during the watching  of a horror film.

The music  itself is 5 minutes and 27 seconds, so we are going to shorten / fade it when editing.

In addition to doing this, we are also going to create soundbridges of the non diagetic sound, so that this piece of music quietens when there is other non diegetic sound e.g. the Night of the Demon sound clip so that the audience are not distracted by it.

If we fail to do this, we will increase the volume of the Night of the Demon clip which will hopefully mirror this effect.
